Main Objectives

The Rexroth Foundation's Main Objectives

The foundation's purpose is to be there, above all, for the sick and those in need throughout the world. We make no distinction by race, politics or religion in deciding whom to support.

Funding is directed primarily at projects that serve medical and social rehabilitation. A substantial share of the funds disbursed over the past five decades has been devoted to scientific research into effective medicines for combating leprosy, a disease that today may be regarded as very nearly defeated.

The foundation's work reaches from India to Pakistan, across Africa and Brazil, all the way to Paraguay.

In particular, the foundation seeks to contribute to the following:

  • Combating disease and improving medical and hygienic care
  • Opening up arable land for cultivation and settling young people on it
  • Increasing crop yields through the modernisation of agriculture
  • Improving water supply in the shanty quarters on the edges of major cities
  • Creating employment by training young people
  • Schooling for young people and further education for adults

The foundation gives preference to projects that can serve as models, transferable under suitable conditions to comparable situations in other regions.
