The training centre in Kottayam trains around 30 to 40 young men each year as diesel mechanics. The full course lasts two years, after which graduates have good employment prospects.
Further courses are planned for motor mechanics and electricians, as well as computer courses, for which additional computers are urgently needed.
In 2018 the facility was severely damaged by flooding and had to be refurbished.
Total funding 1993 to 2022: EUR 77,000.
